CREATE THE LIGHT THAT FITS YOUR VIBE

At CSS we have a few tools that will help you shape that bright light into moody light.

LIGHT BLOCKING CURTAINS: These make is mooooody! Use them to create hard lines or do dull out any super bright light. Light blocking curtains have the ability to change a single scene from bright to moody in a few seconds.

ROLLING BACKDROPS: Depending on the time of year, the rolling backdrops are painted darker colors which help with the mood of your photos. We paint backdrops a variety of colors, some being black, gray and dark blue.

V-FLATS: V-Flats are a perfect light shaping tool. You can use them as backdrop, a reflector or a negative fill. Negative fill (using the black side of the v-flat) sucks out all the light and doesn't reflect, so it helps contour lines in the face and silhouette of your subjects.

ISO: To get a good moody image, up your ISO to create a grainy aesthetic in your images. The higher your ISO the grainier it gets (yes!)

BLACK + WHITE: Nothing says moody like black and white! Add some grain and bam! You’re good to go!
