HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I BOOK?

If you’ve never booked at Creative Space Studios Co. before, it might be hard to figure out how much time you need for your particular shoot/project. In this post, we’ll help you figure out how much time you should book depending on what you’re doing.

CSS can be used for SO many fun fun and creative shoots like newborns, boudoir, family or brand shoots. The options are really endless!

But, if you’ve never booked before or if you’ve only booked one type of shoot and you want to book something different, how do you know how much time you need? There are a factors to consider when figuring this out.

FACTORS TO THINK ABOUT:

How many people are involved in your shoot?
Are there going to be outfit changes?
Are you planning to set up/move furniture around for multiple looks?
Are you planing to use confetti or shedding florals?
Are you hanging anything from the walls/ceilings?
Are you planning mini sessions with a gap in between each session?

Here are our recommendations for how how much time to book based on the type of shoot/project you’re doing. These times take in to consideration the time it takes to set up and clean up.

1 HOUR:

Single person headshot session
Creating 1-2 reels
Mini self portrait session
Creating a 1 minute video for the launch of a new offering
Minimal newborn session (baby only) + minimal set up
Minimal maternity session (one outfit) + minimal set up
Trying a new technique/idea out on a friend (no outfit changes, just a simple set up)
Video call with a client

2 HOURs:

1-2 person headshot session with 2 backdrop options
Creating 1-4 reels
Lifestyle family/newborn session
Brand shoot for 1 client with 1-2 set ups
Creating a 1 minute video for the launch of a new offering
Minimal maternity session (2 outfits)
Combined mini content day with peers (book the studio together and help each other create content)
Record a series of helpful, knowledge based videos for your audience
Boudoir session with 1-2 outfits (Depending on how long hair and make up take or if it’s done ahead of time)
Mini sessions of any kind (Max of 3 sessions)

4 HOURs:

Mini sessions of any kind
Content day with peers/friends
Product shoots
Content creation for your business (head shots, product shots, create knowledge based videos/reels)
Detailed, custom shoot that need a lot of time setting up and cleaning up. (This includes any florals that shed, confetti, lots of products/items. The shoot itself might only take 2 hours, but consider the set up and clean up time)

6+ HOURs:

Mini sessions of any kind
Content day with peers/friends
Product shoots
Content creation for your business (head shots, product shots, create knowledge based videos/reels)
Detailed, custom shoot that need a lot of time setting up and cleaning up. (This includes any florals that shed, confetti, lots of products/items. The shoot itself might only take 2 hours, but consider the set up and clean up time)
Small events such as client appreciation shoots, mixers, etc.
