Everyone say “Hey!” to Brittni! Brittni is “a photographer, focused on small business branding and families. I enjoy taking creative storytelling images that help important parts of our communities tell their stories, be it a non-profit, a small business, or a family.” You can check out her website HERE and her Instagram too!

A few months ago I sent her a little questionnaire to help all of us get to know her a little bit better. I am stoked to share with you her story + why I just love her so much!

WHY DID YOU START DOING WHAT YOU DO?

I started my business officially in 2015, but it wasn't until a little over a year ago that I really figured out how to pair my passion for community building with photography and started to tell brand stories.

WHAT COULD YOU TALK ABOUT FOR AN HOUR STRAIGHT?

Social injustices and what we can do to build community and grassroots movements to be a part of the solution. I am particularly passionate about working in queer communities and I a board member and founding volunteer for Livermore Pride, winning volunteer of the year in 2019. Livermore Pride is a brand new non-profit focused on Equity and Inclusion of LGBTQ+ peoples in the Tri-Valley. Being in charge of their branding and content creation taught me how something like photography could have truly life-changing effects, simply by letting people feel seen, beautiful, and loved. I am proud to say that our ad campaign that was 100% shot in the space brought over 2,500 people to our inaugural event in Oct 2019.

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?

I really enjoy advertising. I actually LIKE watching commercials, and I spent a long time thinking I would go into advertising as a career. It's a mixture of psychology and creativity. I also love watching my kids play and seeing their imagination run uninhibited by convention or rules.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE FACED WITH DIFFICULT THINGS?

I am interested in talking about problems in teams of people ready to take action. I am very solutions and actions oriented. I think it's a coping mechanism to avoid overthinking and negative self-talk and depression to seep in, so when I see a problem, I usually end up volunteering for something, planning a rally, or starting a business.

SHARE A SHORT EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU FELT PROUD OF YOURSELF

Livermore Pride was the proudest moment for me this past year. I took hundreds of pictures that day and in every single image, I saw JOY and LOVE.

A FEW EXTRA DETAILS ABOUT BRITTNI

When asked, “What is your favorite tool in your biz/bag” she responded “The Studio. Is that too ass kissy? Lol, but truly, working in the space allowed my creativity to explode in ways just not possible during outdoor sessions. Other than that, my Surface Book. It's probably gonna die soon and they don't make it the same anymore and I'm gonna be sad.”

Brittni is a go-getter. She is anxiously engaged in things that light her up, help + bring light to this world. Brittni also has a fun personality + is very down to earth. She makes everyone she meets feel welcome + important. We need more Brittni’s in the world! Am I right?!?!
